Dear LME Families and Students,

 

Welcome to Los Medanos Elementary School, the 2012 CALIFORNIA DISTINGUISHED SCHOOL, 2006/2007/2012 TITLE I ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARD and CALIFORNIA HONOR ROLL SCHOOL. We are very proud of our accomplishments through the years. We have been able to excel academically thanks to the work and dedication of our teachers and staff, our students’ efforts, and our families’ and community’s support.

 

I hope you enjoyed a wonderful and restful summer vacation doing what you like to do the most. I would like to extend a particularly warm welcome to students new to Los Medanos this school year. You have joined an exceptional learning community that will help you succeed.

 

This year our staff of dedicated knowledgeable teachers and support staff will create an environment rich with academic challenges and activities designed to support your child as he/she learns and grows mentally, physically and socially. Our goal is to guide our students, while validating their cultures, as they develop into future citizens who will enter our community and enrich it by their presence.

 

It is important that we develop a partnership that encourages students to achieve to their highest ability. As partners in your child's education, we ask you to become involved this year by attending our parent meetings and workshops, special performances, by visiting your child's classroom, by being in communication with your child’s teacher, and through the coordination of our parent volunteer program. Your support and involvement help to develop students who are interested and enthusiastic about learning. In order for Los Medanos to create a safe and effective learning environment, it is important that parents and students understand the responsibilities and expectations for all students who attend our school.
